Spring Cleaning Tips That Will Leave Your Place Looking Sparkling

Spring is a great time to clean, freshen and energize your home.
Spring cleaning is an age-old tradition that allows you to get rid of the grime, dirt, and cobwebs of winter and start fresh with a clean slate. It's also a good time to take stock of your belongings and declutter your home.
You don't have to wait for spring; you can do some spring cleaning tasks right now if you have time. We provide
estate cleanout services in Hamilton and neighboring areas if you are looking for this service. if you're looking for tips on how to do it right, here are some ideas:

Use the Right Tools for the Job

There are many different tools available for cleaning, but not all of them are necessary for every job.
Use a mop for mopping floors, a brush for scrubbing hard-to-reach areas (like around faucets), and a vacuum cleaner to suck up dust and dirt from carpets and rugs.
You might also want to invest in a steam cleaner if you have hardwood floors that need deep cleaning or if you have lots of carpeting that needs frequent shampooing; this is especially true if there are animals living in your home.
If you don’t have the tools or time to do spring cleaning, request our services and we will leave your home looking sparkling clean.

Declutter Your Home

Get rid of anything that you don't need. This is especially important if you're moving soon or just want to clear out some space. It can be hard to let go of things, but it's worth it once you see how much better your home looks without clutter everywhere.
If you are moving and looking for downsizing services, we can help. We specialize in decluttering and cleaning homes in order to simplify your moving process.

Make a List

Make a list of everything you want to get done during spring cleaning so that you don't miss anything important. If there's something specific that needs to be done in certain rooms, make sure you work on those rooms first before moving on to others.

Clean Your Windows and Screens

Cleaning your windows and screens will let more light into your home. You might want to consider replacing any old or damaged windows and screens. A good way to clean them is by using paper towels dipped in a solution of water and vinegar.

Start Cleaning the Kitchen

It's easy to forget about cleaning the kitchen when you're preoccupied with other projects, but your kitchen needs its own spring cleaning.
Take everything out of your refrigerator and wipe down the shelves and drawers. Throw away any old leftovers or things that are expired, then put everything back in neatly. Wipe Down the Stove Top and Countertops with Warm Soapy Water; Rinse well, then dry everything with a paper towel or rag to prevent water spots from forming when you use it again. Take all of your food items out of the cabinets and throw away anything that's expired or no longer edible (this is especially important for canned goods). Clean off all surfaces with warm soapy water, rinse well and dry completely before replacing items back into cabinets.

Cleaning your Bedrooms

If you're like most people, your bedroom is probably one of the last rooms on your list. But if you want to make sure that your bedroom looks its best for spring, now's the time to give it some attention.  Go through everything in your closets and dresser drawers, then decide what clothing you want to keep and what needs to go into storage or be donated. Remove cobwebs from ceilings, walls, and corners of rooms. Use a brush or duster with soft bristles to remove cobwebs from hard-to-reach areas.  It doesn't matter how much time you spend cleaning other areas of the house if your bedding smells musty or feels dirty. Wash sheets once per week to keep them clean always. Vacuum and clean the floors. If there are items like boxes or bookshelves that need dusting, do it now so that they don't get in your way later on when you're trying to clean up after yourself.

Cleaning the Living Room

The living room is where everyone congregates, so it's important that it be clean and welcoming. Whether you're hosting a party or enjoying some quiet time with family, make sure your living room is tidy and inviting. Cleaning the living room requires tackling two tasks at once: vacuuming and mopping. Vacuums collect dust particles from floors while mops scrub away dirt. Remove unnecessary items from the living room and store them elsewhere to prevent clutter from building up over time. Vacuum upholstery surfaces of chairs, sofas, and ottomans then wipe down each piece of furniture with a damp cloth or microfiber cloth. Remember to also clean behind the furniture so you don’t have cobwebs hanging from anywhere.

Cleaning the Outside of your Home

Garden Sheds
Garden sheds should be thoroughly cleaned out and all tools should be organized by type and size. If there are any broken tools or items that no longer work, get rid of them or request our Burlington junk removal services to remove them.

Fences

If you have a fence around your property or building, make sure it's in good shape before the summer sun starts beating down on it.
Clean out any dirt or leaves that may have accumulated, and check for any damage or holes in the fence that could lead to problems down the road.

Clean Gutters
If you've been neglecting cleaning out your gutters over the winter months, this is a great time to do it, especially if you live somewhere where winter storms can create piles of debris along with gutter systems that can clog up over time without regular maintenance. Use our Hamilton bin rental services if you have a lot of debris and junk that you need to discard.

Cleaning Patio and Decks
If you have a deck or patio, now is also the time to pressure wash these surfaces to remove any paint, grime, or stain build-up that may have occurred during the winter months.
